Heat from your own wood chips
Where there is planing, there are chips - and they help us to save gas. The production of wooden doors and frames generates large quantities of shavings in our wooden door factories. However, these are not disposed of as waste, but are used directly on the company premises to generate energy without any logistical emissions – and have been doing so since 2005. The chips are fed into a silo via extraction systems and from there into the wood firing system. The heat generated is used to heat presses and paint dryers, but also to heat the administration buildings and production halls. It is also used to supply hot water - even on cold winter days. With state-of-the-art filter technology and computer-controlled monitoring, we minimize emissions and reliably comply with all environmental standards. By firing chips, we largely dispense with the use of fossil fuels to generate heat. per year at one of the wood-producing sites alone:
- Recycling of 1,400 tons of chips
- Savings of 90% of the heating oil previously used
- 1,500 tons of CO2 saved
